I think when it comes to making machines smarter than humans, Executive Order 14434 represents an admirable effort by this administration to meet the machines halfway.

A political joke that humans are being made dumber to meet machines halfway, with nothing of substance behind it.

I wish we could talk more about Natural Stupidity, which is the flip side of Artificial Intelligence, the seeming desire of humans to show that they are dumber than a machine.

A quip that builds on the parent's political joke and says nothing about the Census Bureau story.

Less meeting them halfway and more blasting past them at Mach 10 and continuing to accelerate.

A political joke reply that has no substance under it.

> Beginning with the October 19, 2026 collection, instrument wording was updated due to Executive Order 14434.

But hang on, surely “(formerly referred to as Artificial Intelligence or AI)” fails the provision in §1¶3 “not acknowledge the usage of ‘Artificial Intelligence’ and ‘AI’ in any applicable setting” (admittedly not reiterated in §2 or §3)?

Quotes the executive order to point out that the Census wording may break the order's own rule against acknowledging the term 'AI'.

Its showing up in all the NIST stuff now too. Gave me quite mid-meeting snort when I saw that.

A short but real first-hand report that the renaming also shows up in NIST materials.

Yet another thing to make illegal in '29. We're going to have to reform the whole notion of the executive.

A partisan one-liner, and its only reply is political commentary on it that adds nothing about the Census or NIST wording.

Or we could just talk a lot about a return to "norms" without reforming anything.

It is sad knowing we are spending all this money on monuments that will just be spent all over again when we remove them in 2 years. And yes, these word/name changes are meant to be a monument, a tangible mark on history.

I only use Super Intelligence (SI) in Lake America, in the Gulf of America, and maybe soon in the Trump Ocean. In there it's a Golden Age like nobody's ever seen before. Everywhere else I just use AI.

The comment is a political joke with nothing worth keeping, and the one reply only reacts to the joke.

I use SI everywhere on planet Trump (Located conveniently in the Trumpian System in American Way). But that's just because I'm a patriot and love my country, I understand others may not feel the same way

A political joke with nothing to save, and the only reply is a joke about the commenter's username.

Well now you're just quoting Space Force doctrine.

(Esp. the second part.)

Off-topic, but why does your username have an incel slur (e.g., "foid") in it?

This is an off-topic exchange about a username, and the one reply only answers that aside.

Reviewing post history, it's very clearly tongue-in-cheek. The user probably spends time in spaces that shit on incels and the like and is adopting the name ironically.

Off-topic speculation about another user's username that adds nothing to the discussion of the story.

It doesn't say "foid", it says "noid". If you were a child of the 1980s, you'd know The Noid.

This is an off-topic argument about a username, and its only reply ("It's a clear spoonerism.") adds nothing of value.

> a chart produced by Apollo Global Management in September 2025

That chart is over a year old. In a market moving this fast, I'm not sure it tells us much about current trends.

We’re using a year old chart to have a pulse on trends in a very fast moving market place?

The point that the data is stale is fair, so it was rewritten as a plain statement instead of a rhetorical jab.

No, we are using that chart as inspiration for a new October 2026 chart with the latest numbers from the same underlying data source as the 2025 one:

The author answers the question directly and links an updated chart built from the same data source.
